Hentais (or Mangas or Hentai-Mangas) are pornographic comic-style illustrations. Typical Japanese Animes like Sailormoon or also Mila Superstar are the models for these erotic illustrations which know no taboos. One the one hand, Animes are the models for Hentais from a formal perspective; on the other hand, they also serve as models in terms of the content, since especially Sailormoon is a recurring character in certain Hentais. Above all, Hentais stand out that things are shown that are not possible or permissible in real porn films. In the illustrations, there are often minors or also hermaphrodites shown but also sexual activities between women and machine-like creatures without any taboos. Still, it has to be mentioned that obscenities are strictly censored in Japan. Certain loop holes have also been closed since only the display of adults’ sexual organs has been seen as porn which is why the display of minors, known as Lolita Comics have been very popular. Censorship appears in the form of black bars or changes in the pixel size which makes it impossible to make out any details of sexual organs. While there are many expressions for erotic comics in Japan that usually indicate the intensity of the porn, only the terms Hentai und Manga prevail in the west and are used synonymously.

It is especially the display of Asian girls in Hentais that has had the strongest influence on the genre. The youthful display of Asian girls can be traced back to the Hentai illustrations in which also minors are shown. A certain submissiveness is also expressed by the completely unrealistic pornographic illustrations.

Above all, also girls from other cultures have perpetuated themselves in the erotic branch; among them are girls from the former Eastern Bloc and exotic beauties.
